Mrs. Theresa Schroeder
Mrs. Theresa Schroeder is currently the fourth grade teacher. Her favorite color often changes, but it is currently a sage green. Theresa’s hobbies include reading, and coloring in coloring books with intricate designs. She enjoys all subjects, and does not have a least favorite. She also says her favorite part about teaching is that she enjoys being creative, and she says teaching gives her many opportunities to be creative. Theresa says her favorite part about St.Anthony’s is knowing all students names from grades kindergarten through 8th grade.
Theresa lived in Ottawa and attended Ottawa-Glandorf High School. She attended Bluffton University where she received her Bachelor degree in Elementary Education, and with a concentration in Psychology. She has been teaching since 1995-1996, and has been teaching at St. Anthony’s since 2007.
Theresa says her dream job would be working for an advertising company creating multi-media ads, but she doesn’t want to leave Putnam County. Her favorite food is anything Italian, almost anything with pasta. She enjoys vacationing to places with natural beauty and history. She roots for the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans and Notre Dame, because that’s where her grandfather got his accounting degree.
Mrs. Connie Bonnell
This is Mrs. Bonnell. She is our 5th grade teacher, and teaches the 5th grade Religion, Science, Social Studies, English, Reading, Math, Technology, and Art. She went to high school at Columbus Grove. Mrs. Bonnell went to college at Ohio State University and received her Bachelor of Science degree.
Mrs. Bonnell is married to Steve Bonnell. She has three children, a daughter, named Addison, and two sons, Clay and Jace. She has one brother, a sister-in law, and two nieces. On her husband’s side of the family, she has 1 sister-in-law, 2 brother-in-laws, 4 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great nephews, and 1 great niece. Her biggest role model is her mother. During the summer, Mrs. Bonnell enjoys swimming and hanging out with her friends.
If she had to choose another occupation it would be in human resources. Her favorite part about teaching is seeing the students “get it.” Her least favorite part about teaching is making lesson plans and grading papers. Mrs. Bonnell’s favorite part about St. Anthony’s is the family atmosphere.
Mrs. Kristen Bonifas
Mrs. Kristen Bonifas is the homeroom teacher for 6th grade as well as teaching 6th,7th, and 8th Math. She has two kids, Emersyn and Beckett. Kristen is married to her husband, Cory. For her honeymoon she and Cory went to Cancun, Mexico. It was her first time out of the United States. Her home when she was a kid was in Elida. She enjoys books but prefers watching T.V. because when she reads a book she forgets what happens.
She loves teaching Math and she went to college at The Ohio State University for her Bachelor's. She went to The University of Findlay for her Masters in Education. What she loves about teaching is that she likes to see her students faces light up when they know the answer.
Ms. Taylor Bresson
Ms. Taylor Bresson is the 7th-grade homeroom teacher and also teaches 6th - 8th Social Studies and 6th religion. She grew up in Lima, OH and went to Lima Central High School. Ms. Bresson attended college at Ohio University in Athens, OH where she received a Bachelors of Science degree.
Ms. Bresson is the youngest in her family, having an older sister & brother, she also has a nephew & niece.
If Ms. Bresson could choose another job she would choose to be an anthropologist (or an actress). She loves spending time with her family and friends and entertaining those around her. She enjoys reading and learning about people in the past & present, and learning about different cultures & beliefs.
Mrs. Jackie Homan:
Mrs. Jackie Homan is the homeroom teacher for 8th grade. Her other responsibilities are 7/8 religion and 6-8 health and science. She lives in Findlay and has four children ages 9 and under. Being raised on a farm in the rural Catholic community of Maria Stein, OH has made it easy to connect to the St. Anthony Columbus Grove community. After high school, Mrs. Homan attended Defiance College and earned a degree in Middle Childhood Education. Earlier in her career, she earned a master’s in pastoral studies with an emphasis in youth ministry from Loyola University New Orleans. What Mrs. Homan enjoys most about Catholic education is being with her students and helping them be the people God calls them to be.
