Father Tom Extejt:
Father Tom has been at St.Anthony School since 2011 but Father Tom has been a priest for a little bit over 43 years. Father Tom went to college at St. Meinrad (Indiana). He got a degree in Latin and Greek. Father Tom had to attend four years of college and four years of theology. Father Tom would like to go to different part in the country to help in a parish but he would want to return to Grove. He’s favorite part of being a priest is the masses, putting together a good homily, and the friendship with other priest. He wants to improve with preaching and praying.
Father Tom's dream job when he was younger was playing for the Detroit Tigers or the Cardinals. After realizing that he could not play for them, he wanted to be a priest. He chose priesthood because he loves mass and the church’s liturgy. He now enjoys reading, taking walks, and fixing up his house in Toledo. He loves celebrating mass and the sacraments, he likes visiting the sick parishioners. Father Tom is a great priest and a nice man, we enjoy having him in our school.
Mrs. Marilyn Siefker is the secretary at the church. Marilyn started working at St. Anthony in September, 1997. She has been working at St. Anthony’s for 13 years part time and 6 years full time. Her favorite thing about working at St. Anthony is being close to the church and school.
Her parents are Harold and Alice Geiten. She is married, has children and grandchildren. She is from Ottawa. Her favorite subjects in school were Reading and History. The subject that she doesn't like is Science.
At some point, Marilyn would like to travel to Mount Rushmore and the Redwoods. If she had 1,000,000 dollars she would she would donate to the school and the church, she also would donate to St Jude's and the poor.
Mr. Scott Hummel is principal here at Saint Anthony. He was born and raised outside of Findlay in Hancock County. He went to school at Liberty Benton. When he was a kid he wanted to be a carpenter because that was his grandfather's occupation. He played football, basketball, and track in Jr. High and High School.
For college, he attended BGSU in Bowling Green, but he also attended Cleveland State to receive his Masters in Administration. He studied Industrial Arts and he wanted to be a Technology Teacher in college. He was a Secondary Curriculum Supervisor at the Putnam County ESC before becoming principal at Columbus Grove High School. He was a principal at Tri Valley High School, Dresden Ohio and , Fairbanks High School in Madison County.
Mr. Hummel has three children. He has four grandchildren and two on the way. His favorite place to go is to a lake or a national park. His favorite thing to do in his free time is to spend time with his grandchildren, kayak, or bike ride. He likes to read books about history like war or famous people. Mr. Hummel likes to travel and has visited many states including Florida, Alabama, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina and New Mexico.
His favorite things about St. Anthony’s are the Christian based Family environment, parents, and the students.
Mrs. Lori Geisige
Lori Giesige, was born and grew up in Columbus Grove. Lori Giesige graduated from Columbus Grove High School. Lori went to college at The Ohio State University. She got her Bachelor science in Human Ecology.
After college one of her dream jobs was to move to New York to be a clothing buyer, for a major department store. That would involve travelling abroad to visit designer shops, in places like Italy and France. One of her most favorite memories, is going to an Ohio State football game with her son Taylor, back in 6th grade. The Buckeyes played Michigan, and won. Lorie came back to Saint Anthony's, because it is her home Parish. One reason she loves Saint Anthony’s so much, is because of the kids.
Lori, is married and has two boys in college. Her favorite holiday is Christmas. Her favorite food is pizza, and one of her dream vacation spots is in Hawaii.
Bruce Schroeder is the janitor at St.Anthony School, and attended St.Anthony School as a kid. He earned a degree for automotive at the Northwestern Business College, which is now UNOH. Bruce started working at St.Anthony’s April 1st, 1992. He has been at St.Anthony’s for 24½ years. Bruce has 5½ more years left working at St.Anthony. He used to be the head of maintenance at Grove Country Foods till the company moved to Missouri. Bruce’s favorite part of working at St.Anthony’s is being outside.
Bruce has been married for 27 years to his wife named Barb. They have 4 kids named Breanne, Drew, Brant, and Dane. Breanne is 25 years old, Drew is 22 years old, Brant is 21 years old, and Dane is 15 years old. In his free time Bruce enjoys working on old cars. While Bruce was in school he played baseball and it is still his favorite sport. His favorite team is the Cincinnati Reds.
Doug has been janitor here since Sept 2014. He did work for the Van Wert Parks Department for 30 years as a maintenance supervisor. A lot of his work was similar to what he currently does now. Doug likes working at St.Anthony school.He went to Jefferson Elementary k-6, Lincoln Jr. High and Van Wert. High school all in Van Wert, Ohio. History was and still is his favorite subject, especially the American Civil War.He attended the University of Toledo but did not graduate. He moved to Columbus Grove in 2011. Before that, he lived most of his life in Van Wert. Other than working at St.A. Doug is very active with the Boy Scouts. During the summer, he is the Camp Director at Camp Lakota in Defiance. He likes to do woodworking. He also likes to golf, fish, go hiking and camping.
Doug loves sports: football,basketball,baseball,hockey, and golf. His favorite teams are Michigan,Detroit Tigers and Red Wings
Keith Schnipke is helping part-time with technology at St. Anthony in the evenings. He also works as the Technology Director at Continental Local School. Keith earned his degree in Network Security from Rhodes State College. Keith went to St. Anthony's 1st-8th grade, and graduated from Columbus Grove High School. He has lived in Columbus Grove most of his life. He has been a member of the St. Anthony church choir for 10 years. In his spare time, Keith participates in two volleyball leagues in Findlay throughout the year. One fun fact about Keith is that four of his teachers from his years at St. Anthony are still teaching here today!
